Adams Elementary

The 2007-2008 school year has started with the mantra, “The power of the team as we travel using our happy feet in the journey of education.”

n Pictures will be taken Thursday, Aug. 14, for tracks 1 and 2 and Tuesday, Aug. 28, for tracks 3 and 4.

n The PTA is in need of a secretary. If interested, call the school at 460-3431. The first PTA meeting was held July 16.

n Pre-EOG tests were administered to the third-grade the week of July 16.

n Track 4’s first day is July 30.

Olive Chapel Elementary

July 26: Individual student pictures for students on tracks 1 and 3. Students of tracks 2 and 4 will have pictures taken Aug. 8.

Aug. 3: School Spirit Day. All students and staff are encouraged to wear their spirit wear or school colors of blue and white.

Aug. 14: Open House for students on track 4.

Aug. 21: An informal meeting for parents of fourth-grade students in the Academically Gifted program, 6 p.m. in the media center.

Aug. 23: PTA Board meeting, 1 p.m. in the media center.

n Olive Chapel families are encouraged to join the PTA. Membership envelopes are available in the front office of the school.

The Raleigh School’s third-, fourth- and fifth-grade scores on the 2007 Stanford Achievement Test were as follows: Third-grade: Total reading median grade equivalent, 9.6; reading national percentile, 96. Total mathematics median grade equivalent, 9.3; mathematics national percentile, 95. Language median grade equivalent, 9.4; language national percentile, 93. Spelling median grade equivalent, 9.2; spelling national percentile, 93. Fourth-grade: Total reading median grade equivalent, 10.9; reading national percentile, 95. Total mathematics median grade equivalent, 10.9; mathematics national percentile, 97. Language median grade equivalent, 10.1; language national percentile, 93. Spelling median grade equivalent, 8.7; spelling national percentile, 90. Fifth-grade: Total reading median grade equivalent, 11.6; reading national percentile, 94. Total mathematics median grade equivalent, PHS (post high school); mathematics national percentile, 95. Language median grade equivalent, PHS (post high school); language national percentile, 93. Spelling median grade equivalent, 10.5; spelling national percentile, 90.

Turner Creek Elementary
