Fuquay-Varina 42, Green Hope 7

FUQUAY-VARINA - Zach Powell dashed 82 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter en route to a 212-yard rushing performance in Fuquay-Varina High's Tri-Eight Conference win over Green Hope High on Monday night.

The Bengals rushed for 319 yards and held Green Hope to 31 yards rushing.

Middle Creek 18, Cary 10

CARY - Brett Burnette threw two touchdown passes as Middle Creek High's balanced attack helped the Mustangs to an 18-10 Tri-Eight Conference win.

Burnette hit David Thomas with 11- and 25-yard scoring strikes. Lavar Autry, who gained 100 yards rushing, ran 46 yards for the other Mustang score.

Athens Drive 43, Apex 35 (ot)

APEX - Athnens Drive High's Nick DeMuro ran 3 yards for a touchdown in overtime for the deciding points in a 43-35 Tri-Eight Conference win over Apex High.

DeMuro also passed for 191 yards in the win.
