The Cary RailHawks U-23s beat England's Burnley FC 2-1 Thursday at WakeMed Soccer Park.

After falling behind the Clarets 1-0 in the 54th minute, Zack Schilawski, a Cary High grad a rising junior at Wake Forest, knocked in the equalizer two minutes later. Cary midfielder Corben Bone attacked the goal from the top of the box. He drew a trio of Burnley defenders and Graham Alexander tackled the ball off his foot. But the loose ball went right to Schilawksi, who hammered in the equalizer.

In the 76th minute, Tyler Lassiter, a Wake Forest-Rolesville High grad and rising junior at N.C. State, scored the game winner. Bone spotted Lassiter unmarked at the left edge of the penalty area. Once he got the ball, Lassiter uncorked a swerving left-footed screamer that caught Burnley keeper Brian Jensen and the masses at WakeMed Soccer Park by surprise when it nestled into the back corner of the net.

The RailHawks are a member of the USL's Premier Development League. At 7-5-2, they are second in the Southeast Division with two matches remaining in the regular season. Burnley is a member of England's Coca Cola Championship, the level just below the Premier League. The Clarets are in the midst of a preseason U.S. Tour, which will take them to Minnesota next week for a friendly against the USL-1's Minnesota Thunder.
